Elevator Pitch: Describe your job in a nutshell.
I am a renal medicine doctor, a nephrologist that does research on inflammation in cancer.

Why did you start working at your company? What was the inspiration for this career route?
I wanted to work at the Montreal Cancer Institute/CRCHUM because of the excellence of the research associated with this institution, in one of the biggest research centres in Canada. A renal physiology teacher at university inspired me to become a nephrologist and a researcher.

What is the best part of what you do on a day-to-day basis?
Discussing positive results with students and thinking about the next experiments to perform.

The most challenging part?
Constant research of funding…

Where do you see yourself in five years?
At the same place with a bigger laboratory, more staff and students.

What does success look like to you?
To find happiness everywhere, at home and at work! Workwise, to have a research Chair and long-term grants from a famous funding body (CIHR).

What is the most memorable milestone in your career?
My first paper accepted for publication.

Do you have any advice for other young professionals?
Follow your dreams and hunt for fun in your job!

Do you support any charities? If so, which one(s) and why is that important to you?
I support Casino Against Cancer to help the Montreal Cancer Institute on the 20th of September, 2013!

Supporting a cause to improve the world. Philanthropy is not only for the older generations.
