Gotstyle Distillery Launches with Womenswear and Groom’s Room

Have you checked out the new Gotstyle store in the Distillery District yet? Don’t wait for the warmer weather to hit the historic streets of the coveted east end destination. Gotstyle, the beloved one-stop shop for the stylish urban male, has offered designer and bespoke menswear since 2005 from its original Bathurst Streer location. The new location stays true to the Gotstyle brand, but with a few additions, most notably the recent introduction of womenswear and the Groom’s Room. The store is seemingly designed for the young professional, offering clothing categorized by occasion to suit our busy YP lives – everything from weekend wear to business attire at a range of prices that won’t break the bank.

The new location offers a complete range of womenswear, with clothing designed for the YP female on the go that effortlessly transitions from business to social to casual wear, including modern suiting and trendy separates. This means everything from relaxed brunch-worthy weekend wear, eye-catching dresses fit for a gala, and beloved denim staples like Paige Denim, J-Brand and AG Jeans. A large jewellery case holds eye-catching and conversation-provoking costume jewellery from some favourite Canadian jewellery designers.

“Our male customers would bring the women in their lives along on shopping expeditions and ask our advice on gift items for their ladies. Now, we can offer men and women a boutique shopping experience that caters to both of their needs,” said Founder and fellow YP Melissa Austria.

The store features a range of Canadian and international brands, with labels like Ted Baker, Tiger of Sweden, Sand, Stylestalker, Designer’s remix, Parker, Sachin + Babi, Paige Denim, By Malene Birger, Rebecca Taylor, Rebecca Minkoff, Rachel Roy, Jenny Bird and Mackage.

What makes Gotsyle so unique? Austria is passionate about making sure people look their best. It’s all in the details. She conducts fashion “how-to” tutorials, educating men, and now women, on trends, fashion tips and accessible service in a curated experience. As everything looks better tailored, Gotstyle Distillery also launched their Made-to-Measure custom suiting service. This allows women to fit a suit to their needs, including customizing the fabric used, features and fit in everything from a boyfriend jacket to classic blazer or a trendy cropped look. Project Runway alum and Franke designer Kendra Francis, known for her impeccable fit and attention to detail, leads the Made-to-Measure program. It joins the men’s Made-to-Measure service, offering fine customized suiting by Canadian and Italian tailors.

At a time when it seems another couple has gotten engaged each time you log onto Facebook, a major draw to the space is The Groom’s Room. Getting your wedding party suited isn’t such a daunting task anymore, especially when you can enjoy a billiard table, DJ booth, and scotch during your private fitting session. Additional store features include a barbershop with a consultant advising on the best in men’s and women’s haircuts and colours.

In addition to the clothes, come for the space. International design firm The Design Agency (the firm behind coveted hot spots Soho House and Momofuku) is behind the impressive design of the 6,700-square foot store. The historic building dates back to the 1880s and the design was intended to showcase the building’s original features with a contemporary update. It is enhanced with industrial materials, intricate features and multimedia elements. The firm teamed up with woodworker Alex Arcese of ALX, and the new location combines herringbone patterned solid wood floors with contemporary wood chandeliers and carved mantels. The space is so expansive that it is used as an event space as well, with a full kitchen and a patio.

Check it out this weekend!
