Canadian Tire Pulls All Clown-Related Merchandise Thanks to Those Dumb ‘Creepy Clown’ Pranks

It’s been a rough month for professional clowns.

As if we weren’t already slightly weirded out by them, the “creepy clown’ phenomenon that’s been sweeping across North America has made us downright terrified.

Clown pranks have been reported all across the country and South of the Border this month, whereby thrill-seekers in clown masks make it their mission to rattle unsuspecting members of the public.

Naturally, it’s giving clowns (you know, the “real” variety) a pretty bad rep in the process.

It’s become such a problem that Canadian Tire has decided to remove all of its clown-related Halloween decorations – a decision that was made last week.

Listings for a 24-inch hanging clown and a 48-inch animated rotating clown on Canadian Tire’s website have also been removed.

Canadian Tire followed the lead of Target, who stopped the sale of its clown merchandise earlier this week.

If you had your heart set on being a clown this year, fear not: according to CP24, many retailers, including Party City and Amazing Party and Costume Store, are still stocking clown costumes and decorations.

Let’s just hope they don’t get into the wrong hands, please and thank you.
