One of Canada’s Most Successful Bands is Working on a New Album

In an announcement that’s either ecstasy or misery for Canadians from coast to coast, Nickelback revealed they are working on a new studio album.

The Alberta rock quartet hinted at the news on Twitter yesterday after signing a worldwide recording deal with BMG. A “major announcement” will follow on February 1st.

The band will presumably release the first single, “Feed the Machine,” on February 1. It will be their 9th studio album. Here’s a very tiny bit of what you can expect:

Nickelback, which was formed in 1995 in Hanna, Alberta, has sold over 50 million records internationally and has been nominated for five Grammys, including Record of the Year for “How You Remind Me” in 2003.

Good luck getting that tune out of your head for the rest of the day.
