Buzzworthy Business: Love Jules Leather

With demand for their carefully crafted leather goods soaring (partly in thanks to a partnership announcement with Sitka), this bespoke leather company has shifted things to the city. Moving from their cozy mountainside (albeit rustic) garage studio in Whistler, Love Jules Leather has recently opened the doors to a 1000-square foot space in Chinatown.

With all this added space to work and showcase their stunning creations (which now to include belts, suspenders, ties, clips and more), the young design duo (Josh Blodans and Julia Vagelatos) are excited to finally have a place to spread their artistic wings. With their combined creative background (his in creative accounting and hers in fine arts coupled with an apprenticeship in leather smith), they share a passion for hands-on crafting we think is worth noting.

Formerly dubbed the Chinatown Centre, the covered outdoor retail mall has since been converted into a neat artisan workspace hub that is home to various graphic designers, tattoo artists, pie crafters, ceramic artists and more. The additional space, coupled with shiny new production machinery, aims to help Love Jules up their ability to turn out beautiful leather pieces that still tell their own one-of-a-kind story.

Be sure to head down to the studio and pay these hard-working young entrepreneurs a visit. Given the hours they keep, we`re sure they`ll welcome the company – and any beer or coffee you might have to offer.
