Glowbal Grill Steaks & Satay is the flagship location of the Glowbal Group’s collection of favoured restaurants, and has been a neighborhood staple since 2002.
And while owners Emad Yacoub and Shannon Bosa-Yacoub announced this week that they will be closing the restaurant’s doors on January 1st, 2015, we say fear not.
The hot spot will find a sparkling new – and expanded – home in the TELUS Garden development next year.
The Glowbal Group knows how to stir up a buzz, (just ask anyone who’s attended one of their fantastically packed openings) and they’ve teased just a bit of information to get us talking. We know the new spot will be much bigger, and with the blank canvas of a brand new, highly anticipated development, we expect a lavish design as well. The Glowbal Group team is staying tight-lipped on the specific details for now but we plan to share more the second we find out.
For a big finale on the original spot, details will soon be released about the New Year’s Eve bash when Glowbal will say goodbye, but especially eager partiers can email sales@glowbalgroup.com for an early shot at tickets.
In the meantime, diners are encouraged to make a pilgrimage to Glowbal’s original home to relive the memories of patio brunches, satay platters, and cocktail-fueled conversations. And prizes will be doled out weekly for pictures shared with #GlowbalGrillMoments.
It might be the end of an era, but change can be a good thing. Especially when it brings a Glowbal TELUS Garden opening party with it.
