The Glowbal Grand Opening Party in Vancouver was Nothing Short of Epic

When the entrance to a party begins with a red carpet the length of a city block, you know it’s going to be a good one.

Eight months after closing the Yaletown location that started it all, Glowbal Restaurant Group relaunched their flagship location in a mammoth 17,000 sq. ft. space (for perspective, that’s roughly the size of thirty Vancouver condos) in the brand new TELUS Garden development.

Glamorous, opulent, lavish.

Even these words don’t quite do the new space justice. Just picture life-sized birdcages that enclose the patio booths, gold and leather wallpaper, and more marble than an Italian museum.

We’ve partied alongside the Glowbal folks at nearly every one of their openings, most recently for their Alberni Street takeover with Coast and Black & Blue. We knew this grand opening party was not to be missed, especially when the invitation promised “fresh, confident, and unapologetically chaotic.”

Well, they delivered.

When the doors opened, gorgeous guests immediately spilled in to the sprawling patio plaza, and were lured with trays of wine through the two floors and seemingly endless private rooms. Glowbal’s familiar menu favourites were reimagined in bite-sized form, and floated through the crowd.

And what a crowd it was. We caught word that the guest list was brimming with over 2,000 names. The promised chaos ensued: cameras flashed, glasses clinked (more than a few smashed), and roaring good times lasted well into the night. It was the kind of party that has been conspicuously absent these past eight months.

Welcome back Glowbal. We missed you.
