Whistler and Tremblant Were Just Ranked the Two Best Ski Resorts in North America

It has been a good year for quality of living in Canada.

We’re pretty much a celebrity up here.

Earlier in 2015, several publications ranked more than one of our cities as the safest and most livable in the world and according to a recent report, we also have three of the twenty most important financial centres in the world.

Things keep looking up…like, really high up.

Ski Magazine just released its annual ski resort guide, which compiles data and feedback from 21,000 surveys to rank the top 30 East and West ski destinations in all of North America.

Quebec’s Tremblant won first place in the East.

BC’s Whistler Blackcomb won first place in the West.

One might say we ploughed the competition? Or did we shred it? Probably both.

Trailing behind Tremblant in the East were Stowe Mountain Resort, Vermont and Holiday Valley Resort, New York. While in the West, second and third spots were claimed by Sun Valley, Idaho and Deer Valley, Utah.

Also, Whistler turns a ripe old 50 this year, so if you’re thinking about planning a holiday ski trip, consider heading there; between the permanent buzz and the birthday celebrations, that village will be next level this December.

Happy trails, Canada.
