We do so much on the internet these days that sometimes we forget just how much of it is videos of people engaging in sex.
Depending on which statistics you believe, up to a third of all bandwidth online is committed to porn. More visitors visit porn sites each month than Netflix, Amazon, and Twitter combined.
Leading the charge is Montreal-based Pornhub, which drew more than 33 billion visitors last year. It is currently the 27th-most visited website in the world.
Every once in a while, Pornhub shares insightful minutiae from its treasure trove of data to give us a glimpse into the world of online porn. Like that time we learned Canada send the fifth-most traffic to Pornhub despite being just the 38th most populous country.
Now, what about cities? Pornhub has just released its insights into the world’s most porn-loving cities. According to the numbers, New York City is responsible for the most Pornhub traffic of any municipality in the world. The Big Apple is followed by London in second place and Paris in third. Los Angeles and Chicago round out the top three. Overall, seven of the top 20 cities are in the United States. Talk about a country clamouring for distractions.

Of course, not all cities browse the same. The infographic below highlights some of the more regional tastes when it comes to porn preferences:
“Big cities like New York, London, Paris and Toronto have diverse multicultural populations, so it’s no surprise to see that ethnic categories are relatively more popular when compared to their national averages. Indian is 57% more popular in New York, 42% more popular in London, 76% in Paris and 92% in Toronto,” writes Pornhub in its latest insights report.
