Reports are almost always boring. But not this one.
Pornhub has just released its ‘2018 Year in Review’, which is loaded with fantastic numbers and graphs illustrating the footprint of the site’s 33.5 billion visits over the course of the year.
There’s oodles of data to parse, so I’ve taken the liberty of studying the literature and delivering what you really want to know: what is Canada’s relationship with porn? Here are some key takeaways:
- 1. Canadians send the fifth-most traffic to Pornhub in the world. This is despite being ranked 38th in the world by population.
- 2. Canadians also spend the fifth-longest amount of time per visit (10 minutes and 26 seconds).
- 3. ‘MILF’ replaced ‘lesbian’ as Canada’s most searched term in 2018
- 4. Only 21% of Pornhub visits from Canada are females.
- 5. The average age of Canadians visiting Pornhub is 38 years old.
- 6. 65% of Canadians visit Pornhub from their phone; 23% from desktop; and 12% from tablet.
- 7. Thanksgiving Sunday in Canada saw a 16% decrease in Pornhub traffic
- 8. The day weed was legalized in Canada, October 17th, saw a 15% decrease in Pornhub traffic
- 9. Searches for ‘anime’ increased by 91% compared to last year in Canada
- 10. Canadians are 60% more likely to view the ‘Asian’ category, 41% more into ‘Threesome’ and 10% more into ‘Popular With Women’.
