If there's one group of professionals we would expect to throw a killer party, it would be the advertising crowd. Last night was no exception, as AdBall officially closed this year's annual Advertising Week in festive fashion

The city’s party-loving advertising crowd was out in full force last night at the 3rd annual Adball: Shaken or Stirred at Maison, marking an energetic finale to Advertising Week 2012. Though there was an abundance of bright young professionals in attendance, we found it refreshing that advertising professionals of all ages made an appearance and stayed well into the night.

The rain got in our face on the way over, so we were relieved to find hair and make-up stations and a skilled team of beauty experts. Carlene Thomas fixed us up in record time and we were on our merry way to check out the rest of the party, which included a crowd filled with many notable faces.

There was no shortage of suit-clad men or martini-sipping women at this James Bond-themed evening. The place bustled with activity as we spotted local YPs trying their hand at the “Casino Royale” and dancing the night away to the sounds of Chantel Quesnel and DJ Nana. The ample bartenders ensured that the crowd was well-hydrated and a savoury selection from the Sultan’s Tent and Kiwe dotted the perimeter of the expansive venue.

Other highlights of the evening included a fashion show by Gotstyle that featured some recognizable faces from the ad world and interesting and conversation-provoking fashion among party guests, including sexy and iconic vintage Bond costumes.

In true espionage fashion, we slipped out unnoticed around midnight; but from what we hear, the party continued to rage until the wee hours, making for a few tired people in the advertising world this morning.

Proceeds from the evening benefit Ad Women of Toronto, an initiative of the Institute of Communication Agencies. Event sponsors included Rogers, Scotiabank and CityTV.
