We caught up with Knot PR owners Tatiana Read & Amy Burstyn Fritz for this week’s edition of YPStyle to cover everything from style inspiration to fashion trends that hopefully never come back into style…

Where do you get your style inspiration?

T: Design and architecture, magazines (Canadian glossies such as FASHION, Flare and ELLE, Paris Vogue, Wallpaper*, Monocle)
A: I keep a pretty close eye on runway trends but tend to find fashion inspiration experientially through what I am working on at the moment. We have the Reel Artists Film Festival coming up in February so I’m all over anything that’s painterly or artistic feeling (think Erdem, CALLA, Proenza Schouler, Mary Katrantzou, Biko, Dannijo).

Who is your favourite designer at the moment and why?

T: Dries van Noten – effortlessly chic, easy for day to night transitions.
A: Rag & Bone. My closet was getting too fancy so I’m having a bit of a casual moment.

What is your staple go-to piece?

T: This winter I bought a few pieces from Sartoria Vico – an italian knitwear line available at Ewanika boutique in Toronto. I love having fun with classic pieces in offbeat textures.
A: Black Louboutin booties.

What fashion trend do you predict to be big in 2013?

T: I don’t follow trends precisely but I feel that the bold, bright palettes and patterns of the past few years may be subdued in favour of a minimalist trend.
A: Attention to detail; intricate beading, exotic brocades, unique cuts and leather accents for all seasons.

What is one fashion trend that you never want to see come back in style?

 T: Parachute anything
A: High heels that look like running shoes.
