Elevator Pitch: Describe your job in a nutshell.
As the Director of Sales for e-Dealer, it’s my job to identify new markets and opportunities for the company. Additionally, I continue to develop direction, best practices, and insights that our clients can use to get the most out of their digital strategy.

Why did you start working at your company? What was the inspiration for this career route?
I started working for e-Dealer in the spring of 2007. Up until that time I worked for a major automotive manufacturer in a variety of sales/management roles. I realized that automotive marketing was on the cusp of a major change in direction. A chance meeting in the late winter with a principal of e-Dealer who was deep into development of a new, online marketing platform solidified my belief that getting in on the ground floor of this revolution was as wise move.

What is the best part of what you do on a day-to-day basis? The most challenging part?
The best part is working with a great, innovative team and a fantastic network of dealers.

The most challenging part is learning to understand that we must prioritize our development schedule to load balance our capacity. In sales, we always want the latest version of our tools to sell NOW, but there are many factors that must work together.

Where do you see yourself in five years?
In five years I would definitely like to see e-Dealer in 5-7 new markets. We’ve currently expanded to China and Puerto Rico, and are beginning to develop our strategy for Australia.

What does success look like to you?
Success is controlling your own destiny; to see an idea come to fruition, be put in practice, and get the results you expected. Success is not only feeling good about your success, it’s also about having your customers tell others about you.

What is the most memorable milestone in your career?
Landing some of the most premier dealer groups in Canada on our Power Up program.
Hitting some fantastic revenue milestones.
Visiting Beijing, China to help get our new venture off the group.
Travelling throughout Canada meeting with our clients.

Do you have any advice for other young professionals?
If everyone else doesn’t think it’s going to work out and you believe in the idea and yourself, it probably will.

Do you support any charities? If so, which one(s) and why is that important to you?
Through the company I am a supporter of the True Patriot Love foundation, in support of Canadian military families. I really appreciate their holistic approach to support, offering aid in areas ranging from physical rehab for veterans to mental health support for their children.

Describe your ideal retirement: how old will you be and how do you plan on spending your retirement years?
I guess if you love what you do and as long as you can stay relevant, why retire? Without question though, the day will come when I’m ready to get out. Hopefully it involves being able to find a beach, golf course, ocean and ski hill… California sounds about right.

What are you looking forward to most about retiring?
Getting less than 100 emails a day.

What to you is notable?
Notable is crossing off items on your bucket list! Like getting engaged on a gondola in Venice.

Blackberry, iPhone, Android, or Other?
iPhone.
