YPDaily: Oleg Dreitser

Oleg Dreitser has always been an entrepreneur at heart and eventually turned his passion into a full-time business, Dynamite Events Inc. Another passion of his, the city of Toronto, swayed him to shift careers, where he currently finds himself immersed in the city’s real estate market…

Why did you start working at your company? What was the inspiration for this career route?
Entrepreneurship was always in my blood. Even as a kid I started small ventures to make some extra cash, whether it would be washing cars in the neighbourhood or running errands for neighbours. Along the way I developed an interest in nightlife and event production. I started out early in high school, producing special monthly events. My passion for event production progressed throughout high school then university, and eventually became a full-time business – Dynamite Events Inc. I’ve been involved in several different projects and ventures in addition to my everyday business, but I always knew that I wasn’t content and wanted to diversify. I’ve always had a passion for real estate, and through my experiences and involvement in production of events throughout the city over the years I was able to discover many unique intricacies of Toronto. The progression was natural to me. I was fortunate enough to meet and develop great relationships with many people over the year, and ultimately use that network to jump start my career in real estate and hit the ground running.

What is the best part of what you do on a day-to-day basis? The most challenging part?
I have a tremendous passion for Toronto and I love to show people different neighbourhoods and expose them to all the cool things that make Toronto the best city to live in!

I really enjoy interacting with many interesting and inspiring people on a daily basis. I always try to grow and learn from my interactions.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
On a beach…. but in all seriousness, the ultimate progression through real estate would be to own and operate my own brokerage. Having said that, I cannot forget my passion for nightlife, thus I would love to maintain my involvement with many of Toronto’s go-to spots.

What does success look like to you?
Success comes in many forms. What I truly want out of my career is for my clients, and people more generally, to think of me at being best at what I do and call me when they need me.

Success also has many benefits; one that is very important to me is giving back and being in the position to help others. This goes without saying, but you cannot forget about family and friends without whose help you would not be in the position you’re in and, most importantly, would not enjoy what you have.

Do you have any advice for other young professionals?
Longevity in anything you do is key. Whatever you do in life, you want to make sure you are great at it and do right by the people who cross your path. That directly relates to branding yourself and having a great reputation at your craft.

Do you support any charities? If so, which one(s) and why is that important to you?
I’ve been supporting OSPCA for the past 5 years. It’s an Ontario-based organization that supports animals and prevents animal abuse and cruelty. Like I said earlier, I think it is very important to give back.

What to you is notable?
There are many successful people in the world which are very notable for great reasons, but most notable to me is an act of kindness of any form without a direct benefit or an expectation of something in return.

Blackberry, iPhone, Android, or Other?
BlackBerry for life!!
