You Can Now Buy Johnny Depp’s Famous Estate in France

Johnny Depp is one hell of an actor and if I’m lucky, one day I’ll get to meet the guy, pick his brain for a few minutes, and then hit him up for an autograph on my VHS copy of What’s Eating Gilbert Grape.

But until then, I’ll just have to settle for buying his home in the French Riviera.

For 23 million Euro.

That’s right; in an attempt to further “close the chapter” on his 14-year relationship with Chanel spokesmodel, singer, and actress, Vanessa Paradis, Depp has listed his estate near St. Tropez. He purchased the 37-acre property in 2001 and has since spent around 10 million Euros on renovations and personal touches.

“He decorated everything, paying attention to the smallest detail, in a ‘Bohemian’ or ‘artistic’ style…,” said a representative from the Sotheby’s real estate team handling the sale.

Here are some of the other details:

  • “…the asking price actually includes all of the property’s furniture and a great number of personal belongings of Johnny Depp. Thus, the purchaser will be able to not only acquire an exceptional property, but also many personal items of one of the greatest stars of our times.”
  • Estate includes village comprising more than a dozen buildings offering just under 11,000 square feet of living space, 12 bedrooms, and 12 bathrooms
  • A church converted into a guest house that includes a café, a skate park, two swimming pools, and a gym
  • A Pirates of the Caribbean themed room (yes, seriously)

Oh, and it’s about 30 miles east of a chateau that Brad & Angelina own, so you know, you could have dinner parties and stuff.

While I know very few individuals with € 23 million lying around, I might just be able to rustle up a few thousand people with ten grand…
