YEDaily: Marta Tryshak

Marta Tryshak started WithLoveGabrielle.com four years ago while studying at the University of Toronto as a way to express her creativity and thoughts on fashion, not with any intention that it would become a career. What’s her definition of success? Find out in today’s YEDaily…

Elevator Pitch: Describe your business in a nutshell.
“Where Fabulous Meets Every Day” is the motto for my WithLoveGabrielle.com website – and really that’s my focus – bringing some insights and entertainment to women in their 20s and 30s from my own life experiences.

Why did you start your business, what was the inspiration?
As noted above, I started my WithLoveGabrielle.com website more than four years ago as a creative outlet while studying. It was only years later – when my audience size was relatively large – that brands would regularly reach out asking me to activate their marketing projects that I realized it had potential as a career.

What is the best part of what you do on a day-to-day basis? The most challenging part?
The most fun and rewarding thing is being creative – coming up with fresh ideas of what will inspire and engage people.

The most challenging part is interacting with people, and communicating my ideas in a way that projects come alive as I envision.

Where do you see your business going in 5 years?
In the past year, my career has already morphed considerably. As a teenager, I did quite a bit of modelling and in the past year I have again been doing quite a lot of modelling as brands seek to have me become the “face of” their ad campaigns – except nowadays the brands are also wanting to leverage my reach.

I am also now consulting for numerous companies about how to position their brands – and to create and develop their social media presence – and I expect to grow my involvement in this area quite a lot in the next five years.

What does success look like to you?
Smiling and laughing a lot every day!

What is the most memorable milestone in your career?
Being recognized by Marketing Magazine as one of Canada’s “Top 30 Under 30” in September 2012 was motivational. I have worked very hard the past year and been involved in many different brand and digital campaigns, so it was nice to be recognized by a respected industry publication that my work is going in a good direction.

Do you have any advice for other young professionals?
Always think about your clients and customers first. If you truly think about what will help them succeed, and how you can help them to be successful, then you will find yourself likewise having a lot of success (and probably making a lot of strong relationship for the long-term).

What is Notable to you?
Making a big effort in whatever field of work you choose, and being creative to really add value.

Blackberry, iPhone, Android, or Other?
Love this question, since I currently have THREE active phones. Marketing Magazine gave me a Samsung Galaxy as part of the “Top 30 Under 30” so that’s my Montreal phone. I am also now managing the social media for Garage Clothing, and they gave me an iPhone, which has a really good camera that I often use to upload photos to the Garage Facebook page (which has 530,000 fans!). And last but not least, my personal Toronto phone is an Android.

How do you keep active, energetic, and vibrant?
I am 24, and curious to experience a lot of the best things life has to offer. In 2013, I plan to travel a lot to experience many places and attend a lot of big events.
