World Cancer Day: Take a Moment to Remind Yourself

Today is World Cancer Day: A designation that was given to February 4th by the Paris Charter and adopted by the World Summit Against Cancer for the New Millennium back in 2000.

The purpose is to spread awareness about the disease so we thought we’d share these life-affirming facts about cancer to help keep the positivity going for all those fighting, supporting and surviving. #cancersucks

EAT THIS

Everyone agrees: Eat these superfoods to reduce your risk of developing cancer: Brocolli, berries, tomatoes, walnuts and garlic.

DON’T EAT THIS

Researchers are studying the link between animal/saturated fat and cancer, (and sugar, too). Obesity plays a role here, too, as does alcohol consumption…. So maybe just be aware of your vices and learn more. You’re in charge of your lifestyle.

DO THIS

Exercise. It doesn’t have to mean running a marathon. But studies show that regular exercise can help reduce the risk of developing cancer.

DON’T DO THIS

Smoke. Ok, so that was obvious.

BEST ADVICE

Be happy. It sounds simple — and if you have the ability to choose, choose happy.
