Wonders of A Transient Universe

The PHI Centre presents Wonders of A Transient Universe from May 4th to 25th a wonderful exhibit showacing Gabriel Coutu-Dumont. His interests remain geared to the nightlife, light shows and the iconoclastic forms and sounds that these worlds create, but in this project he focuses on the portraiture of the audience/spectators ultimately collaborators. Spontaneously casting from the street, he stops revelers on their way out of the bars to pause for a few minutes in front of a dark studio backdrop, an ephemeral refuge that stands in stark contrast to the brightly lit streets. These street portraits take their inspiration from the golden age of Dutch painting, with its images of ordinary men and woman going about their daily lives. Come check out this wonderful exhibit!
