Lolita’s Lust on the Danforth is an intimate and romantic spot that focuses on Mediterranean cuisine, which is more than appropriate considering its location in Greektown. It’s designation as an official TIFF sponsored restaurant make it a favourite for celebrities who are visiting the city during short trips. For us, it’s a must-hit destination during Winterlicious.
Despite being an upscale eatery, Lolita’s has a very bohemian feel to it, giving the small space a cozy atmosphere and an ideal spot for a date. The menu features an array of seafood and meat dishes from around the globe highlighted by our favourite, the lamb shank braised with caramelized onions, red wine reduction and topped with feta. For something a little lighter, we suggest the grilled tiger shrimp martini or lobster dumplings and mushroom salad.
If you’re not making a reservation for yourself and a date, we’re assuming you’ll be bringing along a group of friends. Their spicy marinara steamed mussels are a great option for sharing. For dessert, it would be unfair to make a recommendation other than Lolita’s cheesecake; our condolences to the lactose-intolerant.
