A month ago we asked you who serves up the best brunch in the city. And since summer is all about our favourite weekend meal, we thought we’d get even more specific this time around.
There’s not much out there (we already took care of the Caesar) that epitomizes the brunch experience more than extra order of hollandaise.
So we want to know where you think the best place in Toronto is to order your eggs Benny – your mom’s house doesn’t count. However, if you’ve got a restaurant in mind that isn’t on our list, simply select ‘other’, enter the name, and we’ll count up every vote when all is said and done.
The Bristol
We never make the same mistake twice – and leaving The Bristol off of the brunch poll was definitely a mistake. Their Eggs Bristol features a hen’s egg. NBD.
Harvest Kitchen
This Harbord St. gem serves up some of the best hollandaise in the city. Of course the option to have it served on a french fry mushroom salad (fries, sautéed mushrooms, tossed with arugula and kale leaves) certainly doesn’t hurt.
O&B Yonge & Front
O&B is donating $1 from every eggs Benny order to the Fife House. Not only are you getting O&B quality, you’re also giving to those in need. Charity makes the list every time.
Farmhouse Tavern
The winners of our brunch poll have to be on the list. In fact, they have to be one of the favourites – there’s a reason they won, and we’re pretty sure their eggs Benny had something to do with it.
Starving Artist
What else would you expect from the city’s waffle kings but to have your Benny served on a pair of tiny waffles the perfect size for a poached egg?
Lady Marmalade
Well worth the line-up, choose between a pesto and fresh tomato combo and a pulled pork with marinated red onions.
Le Select Bistro
This is your fancy option. Like, leave your flip-flops at home option. If you want to impress someone with your flair for the French culinary arts, the eggs Benny on a croissant with ham and hollandaise that’s served alongside asparagus and mushrooms is a good way to start.
Le Petite Déjeuner
Know you want eggs Benny just not sure how? Le Petite Déjeuner serves them up five ways including the option to have a AAA marinated rib-eye steak act as your base.
The Drake Hotel
This is as much about where you are as what you’re eating. If being seen eating your eggs Benny is important to you, this is definitely where you want to be. Of course, they wouldn’t make the list if their poached eggs weren’t also top notch.
