Where to Spend New Year’s Eve 2015 in Montreal

This might be the only night that counts.

So with the plethora of young professionals (YPs) staying in Montreal this year to celebrate the New Year, we created a list of notable happenings suited for every style and taste.

From a party where spin the bottle and seven minutes in heaven will make you feel young again, to a mystery venue hosting extraordinary DJs, here are the events that have us most excited to ring in 2015:

NYE at Flyjin
Montreal’s hottest underground Izakaya will be spraying everyone with champagne on the 31st. In collaboration with Veuve Clicquot, Flyjin is the spot to be if you want to impress with epic bottle service and fancy tables. Eye candy guaranteed.

Hotel Nelligan
For something a bit more intimate and low key but nonetheless beautiful, Old Port’s favourite YP hotel, Nelligan, will be hosting an evening full of live music featuring The Jello Shots, a delicious gourmet buffet that’s totally drool worthy, and fireworks. Yes, we said fireworks.

Last House Party At Santos
Don’t want to wear a tuxedo or a gown? Yea, neither do we. And thanks to Santos, we won’t have to – ‘cause they’re throwing it down house party style. On the menu? Spin the bottle, 7 minutes in heaven, jello shots, beer pong, pizza by Dolcetto & Co., open bar formulas, punch bowls, 2am breakfast, and a live countdown from Time Square New York. No dress code…obviously.

A Merry Montreal NYE
Also in the Old Port but in a totally different vibe, Merry Montreal will be hosting an outdoor soiree at Place Jacques-Cartier. Expect a plethora of DJ’s including Notable Award winner DJ Abeille, fireworks that will stun, a NYE countdown, and much more. Dress warm.

L’Hivernale at Parc Olympique
Here’s something nifty. From the creators of the Village éphémère, L’Hivernale is one of NYE’s best-kept secrets. A festive outdoor space located in the Winter Village, where a variety of activities are offered including dancing, skating, and curling with a full complement of DJs starting at 8 pm. Best thing about it? It’s free.

NYE at PEOPL
Everyone’s favourite cozy dance spot, PEOPL, will be getting the dance floor heated up with brothers Jojo and Toddy Flores on the turntables. Dance and party like there’s no tomorrow because that’s what everyone does at PEOPL. Great crowd guaranteed. Always.

NYE at L’Orignal
If Halloween was a prelude to what’s in store for New Year’s at our favourite Old Port Resto then you’ll be in for a real treat. You’ll feel at home in this family run chalet-chic joint that’s known for its delicious, homemade tasting food. New Year’s offers you two options of either a 4 or 6 course meal (both include drinks). After 11pm, their very own MC Moose aka Travis will be playing all your faves, and we mean all of them. Cheese, charcuterie, and chocolate at the bar will also be served at 1am. To start sobering you up…sort of.

NYE at Metropolis
We’re warning you – this will be intense. Picture yourself at a party with 20 DJs, 1 lounge, 1 balcony, 1 mega main room with a massive dance floor, and over 2,500 people dancing away to R&B, hip-hop, and club anthems on Montreal’s largest dance floor. There will be a massive balloon drop and a live broadcast from Times Square NYC on giant screens…if you’re still standing by that point.

Casse-Noisette at Auberge Saint-Gabriel
For many years now, the Auberge Saint-Gabriel has imposed itself as the place to be to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Montreal – and there’s good reason for that. In collaboration with Veuve Clicquot and Belvedere Vodka, this soiree will be filled with kazoos, snowflakes, and thousands of flowers inspired by the famous fairytale ballet by Piotr Ilitch Tchaikovsky. That’s all you need to know.

La Seconde Avant Minuit at Pandore
This promises to be a next-generation NYE party packed with modern swank and high-intensity revelry, filled with mesmerizing lights illuminating what’s already been announced to be a gorgeous crowd. DJ Pat Boogie will heat up the party with pulse-racing tracks while an explosive live count down will add even more energy to the wild festivities. Presented by Belvedere Vodka & Veuve Cicquot with dinner and bottle service available.

Days of Gold at Le Belmont
A New Year’s Eve party that will take you back to the “Days of Gold” when it was all about good times with good people. Live Performances by the ‘Doo Bop Girls’, SamIAm Montolla, and Chanda will bring that good ol’ Soul back. You’ll also be enlightened by the musical expertise of DJs Frank Blvd and J-Kutz, who’ll have you movin’ and groovin’ all night long to disco, funk, soul, and reggae. This night’s all about the music.

A Massive NYE at Rosewood
Join Jonas and ring in 2015 together while looking back at all this year has brought Rosewood. Your ticket includes two sets of live music from The Massive Attraction and Jonas, Rosewood’s amazing food all night long, bubbles at midnight, and Bilal from CHOM FM dropping beats. A little bonus? There’ll be giveaways throughout the night.

Soul Train at Galerie 203
Embark on a trip back to the 70s and groove to the music of DJ YO- C that will ignite the dance floor until the early am. Appetizers, desserts, and an open bar will be on site, as well as plenty of surprises including Mc Dale King, diva disco dancing, and more. Get ready to step into a boogie wonderland of fun.

Saintwoods Presents NYE at Apt 200
With open bar from 8-10pm, hors d’oeuvres, the best kind of people, and some of our favourite local DJs including Jay London, Dave Luxe, and Myfienderic, the good vibes will be felt all over “The Main”. You know they have old school arcade games and pool tables right? Well, now you do.

Nye at Fitzroy
Keeping with the arcade theme, Mont-Royal’s Fitzroy is hosting its first ever New Year’s Eve and offering something very special: free pool and arcade games all evening. Music by Dj Goodvibes. Hipsters included.

OMISOKA | NYE 2015
Saving one of the best for last. An immersive, captivating, and wild experience. OMISOKA brings together the best in electronic music for you to dance until dawn.

They invite you to live the last moments of 2014 in a secret space. DJs Com Truise, Jon Hopkins, Pomo, and many more. The venue will be announced 48h in advance. Get excited.

Luminous at New City Gas

And New Year’s in Montreal wouldn’t be complete without a crazy bash at New City Gas infused with a recipe that screams good times with beats by Project 46 who made an undeniable impact on the progressive house scene this year. Tables, bottles, dancing on tables, an epic DJ and one of the coolest spots in town. Party on.
