There’s no mistaking that New Year’s Eve is one of the biggest party nights of the year.
But maybe you’d rather ring in 2017 at a nice dinner, rather than on a crowded dancefloor. Fortunately, Toronto’s top restos have your back. Many have prepared delicious NYE specials that will help you celebrate in style.
Here are some of our favourite spots, but don’t wait too long to book a table. These hotspots will surely fill up fast.
In the heart of downtown Toronto, this modern French bistro is the perfect mix of old-school charm and new-school style. While a meal at Biff’s is good any day of the week, they are really pulling out all the stops for their New Year’s Eve prix fixe menu. For $85, you get a choice of appetizer, main and dessert, and with delightfully decadent choices like black truffle pasta and smoked beef tenderloin, you really can’t go wrong.
Yorkville’s new plant-based spot Planta will be dishing up all of their herbivorous goodness this season. Their New Year’s Eve menu will feature Asian pear tartare, seared hearts of palm ‘scallops’ and a gourmet dessert platter hand-picked by Chef David Lee for $55/person, served family style. The next day, start the year off on a high note with Planta’s fully plant-based a la carte New Year’s Day brunch from 10:30am – 3:30pm.
Oliver & Bonacini’s California-inspired spot, which has become a quick favourite with in-the-know shoppers thanks to its convenient Saks at Sherway Gardens location, is also serving up a mouthwatering prix fixe menu for New Year’s Eve.
For $65, Beaumont Kitchen is dishing up offerings like yellowfin tuna tataki, crispy duck breast, and phyllo-wrapped cheesecake.
For a refined meal that’s a far cry from your traditional home-cooked turkey and stuffing, hit Bosk in the Shangri-La Hotel for some quality Asian-inspired cuisine. The hotspot is offering special menus for the holidays, including a New Year’s Eve dinner and a New Year’s Day brunch.
This buzzy Chinatown establishment is a go-to destination for hungry young professionals, and there’s no doubt it’ll be just as popular for New Year’s Eve dinner. R&D will be offering their full menu, as well as a few specials: a foie gras PB&J, a Peking Cornish hen, and a cardamom-spiced molten lava cake.
