Where to Brunch it Up this Easter in YVR

A favourite for foodies and discerning YVR brunch-goers, consider making a reservation at Hawksworth Restaurant this Easter Sunday. They’re known for their freshly made artisan pastries made on-site daily (special for Easter, they’ll add Hot Crossed Buns to the mix), and an abundance of innovative yet approachable mains (we love their pacific sablefish Benedict and Dungeness crab jalapeño spaghettini). Enjoy sipping your way through a classic morning mimosa or specialty tea before digging into their lemon ricotta pancakes and classic, house-made granola, “The English” and plenty more. Save room for a few sweet treats on the way out and be sure to pop over to Bel Cafe for your fix. We recently sat down for a special afternoon tasting experience and sampled from a mountain of marshmallows, house-made chocolate Easter eggs, truffles and more. Hungry yet? Reservations can be made by calling 604.673.7000.

Yew Restaurant + Bar is hosting what has come to be called ‘Feaster’ again this year, guaranteed to please the discerning Easter brunch crowd with its a la carte brunch menu loaded with favourites. Round one, load up on your choice of eight starters (we’re talking croissant French toast with white chocolate mascarpone, fresh shucked oysters, sashimi and more. Keep things going with popular mains (steak and eggs, an asparagus and brie omelette, seafood Benny; or even a veggie take on the breakfast classic, beet Benny). If you’ve still got room, nosh on sablefish, dig into their duck confit papardelle or YEW Cobster salad, YEW burger or new (vegan) cashew pasta. Wind your culinary indulgences down with a visit to the YEW Chocolate Experience Easter Buffet – a guaranteed sugar high will ensue. It’s complete with a chocolate fountain, candy station and an assortment of other sweet treats.  Cost per person is $59 with seatings available from 10am until 2pm. Reservations can be made online here.

Another Easter brunch option will guarantee you both a full belly and stellar view; we’re talking a bit of a trek here to take it all in atop Grouse Mountain. You might want to grab your skis or outdoorsy attire for some post-work calorie burning as you’ll likely need it (in a good way). Once again, Grouse will be offering a three-course prix fixe Easter menu which includes plenty of filling options (as well as your gondola fee). Nosh on vegetable crudités, hash browns, scrambled eggs, French toast, quiche, smoked brie, spinach Benedict, seafood crepes, and a fine selection of chocolate treats and other delectable offerings to fuel your activities later on. The cost is only $42 per person and reservations can be made by calling 604.998.5045
