What to Look Forward to at HTML500 Tomorrow

Canada’s largest coding event happened last year right here in Vancouver.

Run by Lighthouse Labs, HTML500 is a one-day affair where those wanting to learn code can do so from the best in the industry.

It all kicks off tomorrow with an intensive crash course – and a whole lot more you should definitely know…

You Might Be Coding With A Teenager
The age range of those in attendance last year was 13-65. That means one thing: Everyone is looking to gain higher knowledge and new skills – even before they enter the work force. Yes, the competition is fierce.

The Lighthouse Labs Boot Camp Has a 100% Job Placement Rate
Thought HTML 500 is a compressed version of the boot camp, you will walk away with the same knowledge and skills that are taught in the eight-week program. Empowered with the basic understanding of HTML and CSS will arm you with the opportunity to open new doors.

The Career Fair = A Brighter Future
An added addition to the 2015 line-up is the career fair component. With industry leaders from TELUS, Hootsuite, Chimp, Fortinet and many other notable companies participating, there is going to be a whole lot of networking. The companies specifically participating in the career fair will be out in full force with their HR teams looking for talent.

Over 60% Last Year’s Attendees Were Women
Women are stepping up their game when it comes to the tech scene. Boys, beware.

Free Education
Ok, so you already knew this was a free event to learn code and maybe even heard that many of last year’s participants had little to no coding experience. But take a moment to stop, really think about that, and give gratitude. Student loan debts are always a big topic and many young professionals even shy away from further education due to the costs alone – this is really a great opportunity to receive education for $0. This hasn’t happened since high school.

Pizza Party
Let’s face it, we all love pizza at event. The official HTML500 food sponsor, Panago, will provide lunch for hungry minds.

With a waitlist of 2000+, we can’t wait to see the conversations and results that unfold at HTML500.
