West Elm Officially Opens in Vancouver

There’s a new stylish spot to source home furnishing finds in Vancouver and we checked out the grand opening this week – with rave reviews.

West Elm (owned by Williams Sonoma) hosted a bevy of design types, home stylists, media and VIP attendees for an evening of discovery and shopping at their new South Granville location. With 13,000 square feet of retail space, the room was packed with people by the time our Notable team arrived.

We noted the well-planned displays that invited guests to take their time exploring every nook and cranny of the store; each corner or shelf seemed all but overflowing with unique, artistically-inspired pieces perfect for home. The room itself perfectly suits the decidedly laidback West Coast Vancouver lifestyle: lots of rustic hardwood, soft colours, weathered glass fixtures and cozy accessories could be found.

On our list: mismatched frames to create your own eccentric photo wall at home, dip-died throws in a multitude of colours, a variety of pieces courtesy of Etsy artists and a great selection of eco-Green bedding in muted prints.

For those YPs who might be looking for a bit of design-spiration this fall, we loved the fact that West Elm offers the perfect solution in the form of their in-house Design Lab. Unsure shoppers can rest easy knowing that staff is available to answer decor-related questions, offer insight and help make decisions.

Making our way around to nab photos of the store was quite the enjoyable challenge; there was just so much design eye candy to take in. Not to mention a great crowd to battle and constant flow of tempting foodie treats we just had to stop to taste.
