Wes Anderson Has Designed a Cafe in Milan That Looks Like a Set for One of His Movies

Wes Anderson has designed a cafe in Milan – and it's everything you expect to see from someone who's created some of the most colourful characters in film. It's the kind of spot we expect to see Margot Tenenbaum...or even the Fantastic Mr. Fox

Wes Anderson has designed a cafe in Milan that would befit a palette of colourful characters.

Fantastic Mr. Fox, Margot Tenenbaum, Alistair Hennessey – those kind of people.

Inside the fashion and design capital’s chic Fondazione Prada complex, Bar Luce contains everything that makes Anderson’s films so…wonderul, unique, and outrageous. There are crazy cakes, strikingly eclectic colour combinations, vintage pinball machines, and accents of decades past spread throughout.

“While I do think it would make a pretty good movie set, I think it would be an even better place to write a movie. I tried to make it a bar I would want to spend my own non-fictional afternoons in,” said Anderson about the space.

Perhaps a little disappointingly, Bar Luce “is meant to be a hotspot for the general public, as well as a regular neighbourhood hangout.”

We’ll assume the words “general” and “regular” did not come from the mouth of Wes Anderson.
