WeRise is Taking Wednesday Mornings to New Heights

Apparently, Wednesday morning is the new Saturday night.

Well, minus the booze, lineups, and getting spilled on by fellow club-goers. Oh – and add yoga to the mix.

Picture a revitalizing yoga class, followed by a fully catered breakfast and a high-energy DJ and glowstick-filled dance party that’s complete with costumes. Now, picture this all going down on a Wednesday morning before the workday even begins.

Because that’s exactly what went down yesterday at The Everleigh for WeRise – an entirely new concept to hit Toronto. Naturally, it’s brought to you by yours truly and WellWellWell. In fact, fresh from months of studying yoga abroad, it was Notable.ca founder and CEO, Julian Brass who lead the yoga session.

WeRise begins promptly at 6am with yoga – but you probably want to arrive early to secure a prime piece of real estate for your yoga mat. Meaning, it didn’t take long for yesterday’s yoga session to sellout.

Once the crowd finds their way out of shavasana, the gourmet coffee from le Gourmand is poured, the food is served, Revitasize juice bar swings into action along with fresh tea from The Honest Leaf , the neon lights come on, DJ Phil V start spinning, and a dance party of epic proportions almost makes you forget that you still have an eight-hour workday ahead of you.

That’s not to say the looming workday was a buzzkill in any way whatsoever. In fact, the energy and positive vibes contained within the walls of The Everleigh probably did the opposite, as guests hit their desks revitalized, wide awake (and likely armed with a new business card or phone number) and ready to tackle the day.

That’s because those who attended definitely ‘rose’ to the occasion, whether they did the yoga and dance party, or arrived in their work clothes ready to bust some moves in the dance party portion (7-9am). If you didn’t, you can always check out the next WeRise event on October 14 – and use the promo code NOTABLE20 for 20 per cent off.

Thanks to all who made it out for our inaugural event, for Flow Water for keeping us hydrated as we got into our own “flow,” The Aerie team for their expert yoga assistance, and The Underground Dance Centre for showing us how to bust a move.

It really is the beginning of a movement – and one Toronto young professionals are ready for. Sign up for your chance to take part in the next amazing morning on October 14th at Everleigh.
