We Were There: Love4aCure’s Kiss and Tell

Last night, we hit The Courthouse for Love4aCure’s Kiss and Tell fundraiser. The Toronto-based, young professional-driven charity event returned for its second year (after a successful launch at Maison Mercer last Valentine’s Day) to host a dating auction filled with no shortage of easy-on-the-eyes and ever-so-eligible Toronto singles.

Love4aCure is the creation of Toronto YPs, Co-Founders Tamanna Ghazvini and Tamara Fletcher, and is a non-profit organization that raises funds by hosting exclusive, high profile events in support of various cancer foundations. Benefitting the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation (a different charity is chosen each year), #kissandtell was co-hosted by CP24’s Patricia Jaggernauth and Jamie Gutfreund and drew a stylish set of Toronto YPs from a fixed bag of professions, in everything from fashion to finance.

The highlight of the evening, of course, was the auction, where some of the city’s finest bachelors and bachelorettes were auctioned off to the highest bidder, in an auction that got intense at times, especially as the booze continued to flow throughout the evening.

The bachelor and bachelorette auction raised an impressive $11,600 alone.  Admittedly, there was quite the discrepancy in final price tags, with some going for a few hundred dollars to thousands, like Lindsey Kosnik, who sold for a whopping $5000.

As in any purchase we make in our YP lives, potential bidders were encouraged to do their research before the event, and interviews with all the eligibles– where they answered questions on everything from their first kiss and how their exes would describe them, to their ideal date and what animal they would be– were posted on social media in the weeks leading up to the event.

The black tie gala (though some apparently didn’t get the wardrobe memo) featured an open bar, a live solo set by the always reliable and super talented Julian Taylor, the sounds of DJ Reddy Fox, no shortage of passed hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction filled with all kind of goods. Notable wins included a coveted all-inclusive trip to Vegas courtesy of RedTag and a pair of NASCAR passes to Daytona 500.

Naturally, it was filled with very single young professionals (YPs), offering a somewhat refreshing change from typical charity events packed with hand holding couples. We suspect more than a few returned home with company…

Overall, the event raised around 25k for the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
