Watersport Rental Spots in Vancouver

With the weekend shaping up to be another worthy of some time on the water, it got us thinking about all the various activities available around the city – and just where to go to rent equipment necessary to get young professionals out and into the ocean for a bit of seafaring fun.

When looking to rent kayaks (be it a single or double) or take a guided tour along the coastline, one of the first spots that comes to mind is Ecomarine Paddling Centres, with three convenient locations around Vancouver. They’ve been around for about 30 years and know their stuff, and are guaranteed to have you kitted out for some kayaking in no time flat. Ecomarine also rents stand-up paddleboards and other equipment as well, so there’s no excuse not to stretch those sea legs.

Another choice spot for renting ocean fun gear requires a little bit of a trip (it’s worth it, we promise).  Head over to North Vancouver’s Deep Cove Canoe & Kayak rentals and you’ll not only find a great deal on kayaks and SUPs, but will also get to enjoy drop-dead gorgeous scenery offered by the locale itself.  With a sheltered bay leading out to the Burrard Inlet and coastal mountains that seem to plunge into the Pacific, Deep Cove is simply stunning and offers a relaxed atmosphere to test the proverbial waters if you’re new to these sports.

Finally, another noteworthy spot worth checking out when on the hunt for watersport rentals in Vancouver is Windsure (located on Granville Island). They boast a wide array of different rental pieces spanning from SUPs to Windsurfers, to beach-friendly Skimboards – all for a relatively easy-on-the-wallet fee.

So there you have it, a few of our rental recommendations meant to get you geared up and help you make the most out of our West Coast summer – on the water.
