Video: This Anti-Bullying Social Experiment Will Restore Your Faith in Humanity

There’s nothing like a touch of the Friday afternoon ‘feels.’

As part of a social experiment, UPtv set up hidden cameras to capture two girls bullying a younger girl at a bus stop (don’t worry, the girls are acting), along with the reaction of strangers. The video, which was filmed in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is part of UPtv’s Stand Up Against Bullying campaign. You should probably check it out for yourself, but I will say this much; it will definitely restore your faith in humanity.

What would you do? Would you jump in, like these strangers did, and defend the bullied girl, or would you put in your headphones and look the other way?

Taking it a step further, would you stand up for someone who was being mistreated in the workplace? Though we’d all like to think we’ve grown out of bullying, I have heard about workplaces that are more like high schools than offices when it comes to things like negative gossip and leaving others out of everything from board meetings to after-work drinks with coworkers.

If you’re in need of a reminder that bullying is never acceptable regardless of your age, you may also want to check out this video – then invite that left-out coworker for a coffee this afternoon.
