Vancouver’s Kulth Music Festival and Centre of Gravity Festival

Festival season is upon us, and we’ve had exclusive access to details surrounding a few Notable ones to help get you geared up this month. These multi-day events are set to offer a perfect opportunity to book-off work and stash the Smartphone for a weekend of fun, starting with a trip to Coombs, BC for the Kulth Music Festival. This weekend-long festival kicks-off on July 16th, featuring more than 30 bands and indie performers appealing to a wide array of tastes. Call it the “Folk Fest with an Edge” – this event aims to embrace a Zero Waste approach by minimizing its carbon footprint, and that of festival-goers. Look for artists such as Ron Sexsmith, Free City Collective, Stars, Top Less Gay Love Tekno Party, the Boom Booms and many more – all taking the stage amidst the intimate, laidback setting of Coombs (just 40 minutes outside of Nanaimo).

Next up: Touted as “Canada’s Hottest Beach Festival” (move over, Wakestock) the Center of Gravity festival takes place in sun-drenched Kelowna July 29th to 31st, and is set to draw more than 20,000 people to take in performance by notable artists such as Calvin Harris, Busta Rhymes, Chromeo, and Dragonette, to name just a few. Offering plenty of other activities throughout the multi-day festival, feel free to catch a match of Pro-Volleyball, one of many ongoing DJ shows, Freestyle Mountain Bike and Motocross displays and, what’s a beach party without a classic bikini competition? All are ongoing all weekend-long.
