UEnd:poverty Redefines Gift Giving

We know that young professionals are socially conscious, which can transcend to almost any facet of our busy lives. We all want to have a positive impact in regards to what we do, which is apparent even when purchasing gifts. UEnd:poverty makes it easier than ever for YPs to make a difference when it comes to gift-giving. Started by Calgary’s Jay Baydala, UEnd poverty is a local organization with a global platform and impact that helps YPs give while, well, giving.

Rather than purchasing an obligatory gift that we all know will sit on a shelf or perhaps end up at the thrift store, UEnd empowers you to give a new kind of gift – one that helps eradicate extreme poverty and changes the way we think about giving through the redirection of a small portion of your gift spending. Each ‘gift’ helps create a legacy of change that will, in turn, renew our experience of giving (and receiving).

As a gift-giver you can send an online gift card to a friend who is celebrating a milestone like a birthday or wedding; or choose UEnd for Christmas or Valentines Day gifts. Your gift recipient chooses from a database of poverty eradication projects and then allocates their gift towards a project that interests them. This new way to give puts the power of change into everyone’s hands. We’ve all been the recipient of a charitable donation on our behalf, so it’s really exciting that as the gift recipient you get to choose your charity of choice.

Since 100% of every UEnd donation goes to poverty-ending projects, they also have an initiative getting us YPs involved to help fuel the machine and make it more powerful than ever. They are looking for 5000 people to subscribe to U:Powered for just $5 per month, which is about the price of a speciality coffee.
