June 21 (that’s tomorrow, by the way) is Summer Solstice and we’ve got our eye on a couple of parties worthy of the longest day in your calendar. Here’s why you should have Pivot’s Ignite and Taste the Market on your radar…
Pivot Ignite
Pivot, the Glenbow’s art group for the YP set, is throwing their Ignite Summer Patio Party. The event starts at 7:30pm and has all sorts of bells and whistles. Discover one of Glenbow’s hidden spaces as the museum’s private +15 patio is transformed into the perfect summer evening venue. There will be music by GSD, a collective art project with Dean Stanton and projection art with Jennie Vallis. Raw Canvas will be serving the patio party food and there will be tasty treats from Village Ice Cream. Dress in your best summer chic and kick off the season right.

Taste the Market
See the Calgary Farmers’ Market in a different light – candle light, that is. 25 of the Market’s vendors will be serving up bite-sized dishes while Wild Rose Brewery and Galileo Wines will also be on hand to quench your thirst. Judge your way through the offerings before casting your vote. All proceeds go to the Calgary Interfaith Food Bank.
