Last week, Conde Nast Traveler published its annual list of places that make you want to book a flight, cut all ties with work, and never return.
We’re talking, of course, about the Top 100 Hotels & Resorts in the World.
The list is determined by feedback from Conde Nast readers and can be considered the definitive guide to the absolute best places of hospitable refuge anywhere on this earth. The choices span every corner of the planet, from Tanzania’s Serengeti region to Ireland’s Ashford Castle.
Oh, and two of our personal favourites from right here in our own backyard: B.C.’s Nita Lake Lodge and Loden Hotel, which placed 22nd and 28th, respectively. They’re the only two Canadian properties to be featured in the top 100.
The top 10 below:
1. Singita Grumeti, Serengeti, Tanzania
2. The Lodge & Spa at Brush Creek Ranch, Wyoming, U.S.
3. Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve & Wellness Retreat, Western Cape, South Africa
4. ITC Grand Bharat (Luxury Collection), Haryana, India
5. Portrait Roma, Rome, Italy
6. Cal-a-Vie, California, U.S.
7. Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem, Jerusalem, Israel
8. Nayara Springs, Arenal, Costa Rica
9. Shinta Mani Club, Siem Reap, Cambodia
10. The Lodge on Little St. Simons Island, Georgia, U.S.
