TV Reporter and Cameraman Shot and Killed During Live Broadcast

Terrifying and heart-wrenching news to come out of Virginia today.

Reporter Alison Parker (24) and her cameraman Adam Ward (27) were shot and killed while reporting live on scene for local television station WBDJ7.

The incredibly disturbing scene was captured on video as you hear multiple gunshots ring out at a pedestrian plaza in Moneta, VA while Alison was interviewing Vicki Gardner, the local Chamber of Commerce Head about tourism in the surrounding area.

During the live taping, you can hear multiple gunshots as Alison and Gardner scream with terror and try to take cover.

Unfortunately, Alison and her cameraman Adam couldn’t escape with their lives. Gardner was shot in the back but is still alive in hospital.

A man standing nearby wearing dark clothing and holding something suspected to be the gun flashes momentarily at the end of the clip as the feed cuts.

A massive manhunt is currently underway for the gunman, though so far no motive is known.

Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of all those involved.

Below is the video of the shooting as it happened and a picture of the gunman. Warning: contains disturbing, but not graphic, content:

UPDATE: Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe has said that the gunman was a “disgruntled” former employee at WBDJ7.
