Tracy Morgan to Make His First Comedic Post-Accident Appearance as Host of SNL

Nearly a year and a half after his horrific car crash, Tracy Morgan will make his comeback as host of Saturday Night Live.

Morgan will step back onto the SNL set for the October 17 episode of the show.

Injuries from the crash left Morgan largely out of the public eye since the accident, until earlier this summer when he sat down with Matt Lauer on Today.

The gig will mark Morgan’s first public performance since the crash that claimed the life of fellow funny guy “Jimmy Mack” McNair. Morgan suffered broken ribs, a broken nose, and broken leg in the crash, which occurred when a when a Walmart tractor-trailer hit the limo bus that the comedian was traveling in on the New Jersey Turnpike last year.

In a Twitter post, Morgan wrote that he was “Stoked to be going home,” followed by the #SNL hashtag.

We’re pretty stoked he is too.
