This Quebec Restaurant is Giving Diners Free Poutine for Not Drinking and Driving

The Montreal suburb of Boisbriand recently produced a shining example of what you should absolutely do and not do when drunk: eat poutine and drive, respectively.

When local hot spot La Belle et La Boeuf Burger Bar noticed a bunch of cars had spent the night in its parking lot, the restaurant left a note on windshields the next day thanking drivers for not driving impaired. And offering free poutine as a token of appreciation.

The response to the restaurant’s post (shared more than 2000 at time of writing) has encouraged manager Pascal Auger to make the gesture a long-term offer. Those who drink and stay parked will now be offered coupons for poutine on a regular basis. Said coupon below:

Rough translation: Free poutine for not drunk driving.

“We’ve often convinced guests to leave their cars and take alternative modes of transportation,” he wrote in a Facebook chat with HuffPost Canada. “We take pride in making sure people have a good time when with us and get home safe.”

Now imagine the opportunities presented by rewarding patrons who don’t smoke weed and drive. A never-ending circle of gluttony.
