Toronto’s Best Italian Food as Voted by You

And primo posto goes to…

Gio Rana’s Really Really Nice Restaurant.

A little bit too far East on Queen, you say? Fuhgeddaboudit – almost 25% of the votes says differently.

According to you, this lively, authentic Leslieville gem, having grown out of its original tiny Yonge and Eglinton location years ago, is now the best spot for an authentic Italian meal in the city, offering delicious renditions of ossobuco, giant meatballs, pizza and much more.

Just getting edged out in second place with 21.8% of the votes was a heavyweight from the “Other” category, 7Numbers, with locations just west of Eglinton & Avenue and just east of Danforth & Broadview. Their menus are published each day around 5pm, so while you may not know exactly what you’re going to get, you can be sure it’s going to be excellent.

Tied for 3rd place, each with 9% of your votes, were Dundas West’s Campagnolo and the ever-popular Terroni. Surprising us with an off-the-podium placement in 4th was the critically acclaimed Buca with only 8.6% of the votes and in 5th, just around the corner, was the always-busy Gusto 101 ranked with its sister restaurant, Trattoria Nervossa, in Yorkville.

Below you’ll find some colourful piada that breaks down all the votes. If you see something you don’t like, let us know in the comments. Or, next time, don’t be so anti-pasti and just vote…
