Toronto Weekender: November 11th through 13th, 2011

With the weekend ahead and all indicators showing that winter is but a few weeks away, we’re in the mood to make the most of the last of the pre-freeze nights.

On Friday night, take a trip over to Screen Lounge at Yonge and College and grab a few drinks with the crew. Order an app or two, but save room for dinner at Hush Restaurant. Hush opened about two weeks ago on King West, and is serving up some high-ish end bar food in a pretty nice atmosphere. Afterwards, meander over to Parlour for some awesome cocktails.

On Saturday morning, you’ll want to grab brunch at one of our fave spots, the delicious Bistro 243. Grab a big late morning bite and fuel up before hitting the town for some winter weather shopping. (Seriously, get it out of the way now.)

For dinner, stay in, and order a Chicago deep dish from Parlour Deep Dish Pizza. This newly established “virtual restaurant” only does delivery, and they have three styles of deep dish pies to choose from, along with some amazing apps. Seriously, it’s worth every penny.

Get gussied up and head over to the Design Exchange (if you’re lucky enough to still be able to nab a ticket) for their annual Black and White Gala: Binary. If you skip the dinner, no worries, there’s still the after party, and it’s held in the always swanky old TSE.

On Sunday, take it easy throughout the day, grab lunch at Messini, then wander along the Danforth. Spend the day getting ready for the week and relax at Table 17 in the evening. (You can BYOW!)
