Toronto Weekender: July 11 through 14, 2013

After #Stormageddon, we’re hoping to get some fine weather this weekend so we can enjoy the great cityscape that is Toronto. Here’s what’s got our attention… we just hope we can make it out!

Thursday
The big ticket tonight is Boys’ Night Out at Brick Works hosted by Lifford Wine Agency. This event is seriously awesome. Why? Cars, clothes, wine, spirits, food, cigars, and an abundance of other manly things. Sorry ladies, you’re not invited.

The other fancy pants soiree – well, as fancy as a barbeque can get – is the VINTAGES barbeque at the Corus Quay complex. Over 60 wines will be featured alongside barbeque classics, so you can sample pairings on the fly. Talk about a food + drink melee, amirite?!

Friday
Long live Mexico – or at least its cuisine – tonight as Playa Cabana‘s newest spot, Hacienda, opens up tonight, only steps away from the original. The third instalment of the Playa Cabana enterprise is a bit more eclectic in decor than its predecessors, but will be slinging similar cool cocktails and serving up similar Mexican cuisine we’ve come to love from the restaurateurs that can do no wrong.

King West’s hottest new patio wants to sell you something… everything, actually. EFS (Everything’s For Sale) just opened up, bringing another cabana-style spot for summertime chilling. From the same peeps as Bloke & 4th, EFS has cheap drinks on the daily, some killer digs, and droves of King West’s beautiful people. Head on over for your Friday night antics.

Saturday
Chef Matt Kantor has some new digs, and these ones are bringing some amazing eats to the already burgeoning Leslieville scene. Continuing the wave of Spanish-inspired restaurants in the city, Bero‘s cuisine is refined and fancy while still maintaining an approachable ethos. Check it out on Saturday before the masses take full note!

At Muzik Nightclub you’ll now find one of the hottest scenes of the summer, and that’s not just because it’s outside. Muzik Bier Garden launched recently, bringing an outdoor natural stone patio with hand-crafted wood tables, menus featuring a variety of beer selections, and food pairings to satisfy any palate. Sounds like a Saturday night to remember to us!

Sunday
Get your drank on at The Rhino on Sunday as they host Canadian Beer News’ Summer Beer Festival. With 20 Ontario breweries taking part, you’ll be able to sample dozens of brews running the gamut from light and crisp to dark and heavy. Sundays have never been as beeriffic!

Salsa on St. Clair is this weekend, and if the previous years are any indication (and they seem to be) we’re in for a real treat. Celebrating Latin-American culture, Salsa on St. Clair is a feast for the eyes, the stomach, and the ears. Are you ready to get your dance on? Watch live entertainment from cultures that may be exotic to you? Taste the flavours of the world? You should have answered yes to all three, and you should flock on over to St. Clair to take part.
