Toronto Trump Int’l Hotel and Tower Opens Today

The long-awaited debut of Trump in Toronto is arriving in style today as the city officially welcomes the Trump International Hotel and Tower (325 Bay Street) to its already stacked arsenal of world-class hotels. The glass, stone and steel facade sits comfortably between surrounding highrises in the city’s financial district and rises 60 storeys into the air, making it the tallest residential building in Canada.

Upon entering the tower, guests will be greeted in the magnificent lobby by their first name to the tune of a grand piano. As expected, no detail is left unaccounted for; you’ll be transported into an elegant and privileged lifestyle, surrounded by impressive works of art, a 1,300-pound Swarovski crystal sculpture, and stunning black drapes complemented by a detailed dark granite floor…and that’s just in the lobby.

When even the smallest hotel rooms check in at 550 square feet, you know you’ve arrived at five-star luxury. The hotel features 261 rooms and suites, elegantly designed on par with the building’s theme, champagne and caviar. Expect simple light and dark contrasts, with most elements of design focused around black and white surfaces. Intertwined with the seemingly minimal design are grandeur accents that are befitting of The Donald’s lifestyle, like 500 thread count sheets, 40-inch laptop-compatible Samsung TVs in every room, touch-controlled lighting and alarm clocks that charge your iPad.

Guests will also enjoy sipping cocktails at the hotel’s Suits Lobby Lounge, most notable of which is their signature cherry blossom-infused vodka, and enjoy fine dining at Stock Restaurant. Speaking of which, you should definitely save the date for our private cocktail shmooze on February 22, 2012, which will give you a glimpse into the glitz and glamour of Toronto’s latest architectural marvel.
