Toronto Movember Gala Parté
Where: Guvernment
When: November 28th
This is the “official” annual event for Movember fundraising in Toronto – these Galas will be going on across the country – and people won’t just be in moustaches; they’ll be in costumes too. General admission is $20 but if you’ve managed to raise a meagre $50, you’ll get a free pass. If you raise $100, you’ll get a plus one. A-Game is required as titles will be crowned for Team Mo, Miss Movember (who doesn’t dig a dame in a moustache?), and the highly coveted Man of Movember 2014. Suits and Staches Charity Gala
Where: Steam Whistle Roundhouse
When: November 21st
Where would a popular Toronto cause be without a party at The Roundhouse? Suits and Staches, run by a committee of dedicated Mo Bros and Mo Sistas, is taking over the Steam Whistle brewery for the second year in a row and wants you to throw on a suit and a ‘stache to support Movember Canada in style. Tickets are $100 and include some refreshments, entertainment from a classy pianist, rock band, and DJ, light hors d’oeuvres, and a silent auction. Oh, and on-site grooming services in case your ‘stache hasn’t quite grown on you or you’ve officially turned your partner’s upper lip into sandpaper. The Gentleman’s Expo @ The Metro Toronto Convention Centre
Where: Metro Toronto Convention Centre
When: November 14-16
Technically this isn’t a Movember ‘party’, but it’s one hell of an event and probably the most perfect place to either sport a moustache or be inspired by one. Clothes, sports simulators, live music (including the band Hollerado), food, drinks, casino games, prizes, and interviews with studs like GSP – this is the manliest event of the year. So if you think you’ve got a good moustache going, you’ll know within five minutes of showing up to this event.
Movember ‘Stache Bash
Where: Czehoski
When: November 27th
Being thrown by Level 8 Entertainment, a collection of George Brown Sport & Event Marketing students, this Movember jam should twist your whiskers quite nicely. Spanning two floors of this great Queen W. venue, there will be live music, free food, a raffle, and what is being billed as a “Shave Off Competition”…we’re not sure what that is, but it sounds extremely dangerous. So we expect great things.
Movember Mo
Where: Cadillac Lounge
When: November 27th
At the moment, details for this party are harder to find than Burt Reynolds’ upper lip. But we do know that a team of people are hard at work putting something special together. Plus the Cadillac Lounge is a sweet venue. It looks like it’ll be $15, there may or may not be prizes, but there sure will be more moustaches than you can shake a comb at. If you’re feeling like a trailblazer, maybe this is the venue for upping the ante on “The Handlebar” and introducing “The Steering Wheel”…
