Toronto Cleaning Services Every Young Professional Should Know About

You’re not lazy – you’re busy. And you’re also doubling up on your contribution to the economy.

When it gets down to brass tax (and ceramic toilets) we all know how time-consuming it is to clean an 800 sq. foot condo, let alone a whole house. Every says it only takes 2 hours, but if we’re talking about a thorough clean, most of the time that’s just not the case. Enter: cleaning services.

They’re relatively inexpensive and in Toronto, they’re abundant. But not all of the good ones are well known. After all, that Molly Maid lady has made quite the name for herself.

Here are a few condo/home cleaning companies that you should consider next time your place needs a good scrub…

Kleanr
These folks are the newest of the condo-only crop. Booking is entirely done online, it takes only a few seconds and you’ll usually be able to get someone in your place within 48hrs. One nice feature of the service is the simplicity of the booking/pricing; you just tell them what kind of place you have (e.g., One bedroom, one bathroom) and you get a flat rate to make the place spotless. That’s it. All cleaners are vetted company employees and a basic clean starts at $80. They also give a $25 discount for referrals.

LV Clean Co.
If you live in a condo in Liberty Village, King West, Queen West or City Place then you’re in luck with this solid crew. You can quickly book through their website or their iPhone/Android app, and while they won’t provide their own vacuum, they will provide once-a-month maintenance cleans at a 20% discount. For a full list of buildings served, check here. Medium condo cleans (6-800sq ft.) start at $95.

Helpling
While they have the most simultaneously cute and creepy name of the group, they also have some of the best rates and one of the easiest booking processes. Helpling is a “Marketplace” rather than a cleaning company, but they do perform background checks and personal interviews with all their resources. Transparency, for glass and business, is one of their buzzwords; they even have a Cleaning Agreement visible on their website. Rates are $25/hr and 650sq feet takes them about 2.5 hours.

The Condo Maid
Don’t be fooled by their name; it’s more than one condo maid, and there are two cool angles with this service. First, their pricing starts at a base fee of $40 up to $700sq ft. and then all you do is add $5 for every 100sq ft. after that. Second, they have 2 simple packages: Hotel Style Cleaning and Ultimate Cleaning. The ultimate service includes things like blinds, oven and refrigerator cleans, but the Hotel Style, for the price, is pretty thorough.

EnviroMaid
If you are extra-conscious about being green, these are your folks. While all the cleaners we’ve listed absolutely use enviro-friendly products, these folks literally stake their name on the philosophy. They do through cleanings of both apartments and houses and cover the city from West Toronto all the way to North York. Unfortunately you can’t do a whole lot online in terms of estimates and booking but they are friendly and responsive. The rates float around $75 for 2 hours of cleaning.
