Toronto Bourbon Week is Back

Do you know what freedom tastes like?

It tastes like Bourbon – that’s what it tastes like.

From November 14-20, at 11 bars and restaurants, Bourbon Week will let Toronto celebrate the fine work of our neighbours to the south in the name of the grand American Whiskey known as Bourbon (pronounced, ‘deeee-LISH-us’).

While Canada has done some excellent prohibition-busting work in our own small wood casks, our pals in the US have got a pretty sweet thing going. And any chance we get to show our gratitude, we shall gladly take it…one big sip at a time.

Each venue is hosting their own one-time event, most including a culinary complement, so the breadth of the experience will surely be as rich as the taste and selection of spirits and grub. For instance, on Tuesday, November 18th, Jump Restaurant is doing a bourbon-paired four-course menu with bourbon-infused dishes. While on opening night, The Monarch Tavern is doing a sample flight and a jazz performance. The County General will be offering confit duck wings with a paired bourbon cocktail, AAA Bar is doing a smoked brisket & bourbon pairing, and on Monday the 17th, The Carbon Bar is offering their entire menu of Bourbons at 50% off.

For some events tickets and reservations are required, while for others it’s simply show up and drink up.

It’s time to head south for the week.
