Here’s a trio of the hottest things you can do in the city today.*
Where: The Paint Lounge, 784 College St. W.
When: 7:30pm
Quickly. In what sounds like the greatest speed dating opportunity we’ve come across in years, The Paint Lounge will be pitting your artistic talent against time and charm. Women will be stationed in front of a canvas that they’ll start using to create their own personal masterpiece. Every 180 seconds or so the men will rotate to a different Woman/Artist/Canvas and ‘help’. The only question is which pair will create a Klimt Kiss and which will be stuck dabbling in finger paint.
Where: Roy Thomson Hall
When: 8:00pm
To the Sounds of Silence specifically. Principal Pops Conductor of the Houston, Atlanta, and Jacksonville Symphony orchestras, Michael Krajewski will be in town to lead the Toronto Symphony Orchestra through a series of Simon and Garfunkel classics. Singers AJ Swearingen and Jonathan Beedle will also be on stage doing their best Mrs. Robinson. And during this ‘Hazy Shade of Winter’ we can’t think of a better way to ‘Keep the Customer Satisfied’. Hey-O!
Where: The Rhino , 1249 Queen Street West
When: 7:00pm
That’s what you do at most literary events, right? Well, in order to settle the snapping vs. clapping debate forever, you should probably head out to the Beer and Butter Tarts Launch Party tonight. Stained Pages Press is releasing the first issue of their bi-annual Canadian literary food journal. So let’s just double check here: food, beer, and the ability to come across as looking culturally invested. Sounds like a Tuesday win to us!
*Of course, no one would blame you if you just stayed in and watched this. On repeat. For all time.
