Today’s Notable 3some in Toronto: May 12, 2014

Here’s a trio of the hottest things you can do to fight off a case of the Mondays.*

Studio 180
Where: First Canadian Place, 100 King St. W.
When: 6:00pm

A Toronto theatre known for producing challenging and engaging content is throwing itself a party. Or, as they say on the stage, a gala. Kicking off its second decade in the city, Studio 180 and its season sponsor, BMO, are hosting a night that’ll include an exclusive menu created by BMO’s Executive Chef, live performances, and an enticing auction. Heels on a Monday are a good thing.

Mysterion
Where: The Storefront Theatre, 955 Bloor St. W.
When: 8:00pm

Touting himself as Canada’s foremost mentalist, Mysterion is the kind of guy who’ll mess with your mind. As the info says, “There will be no dancing girls, no campy one liners and definitely no nonsense.” (Well, two out of three ain’t half bad.) If you’re into magic, mind reading and events that border on reality, then you should probably check this guy out. Remember, it’s not the spoon that bends

Ontario Wine Pop-Up
Where: Vintage Conservatory, 100 Lombard St,
When: 6:00pm

Who doesn’t love a good wine pop-up shop to kick off the week? Featuring grapes from Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery and Tawse Winery, you’ll taste up to a dozen different wines that include everything from an unoaked Chardonnay to a Grower’s blend Pinot Noir. And you’ll do it at Toronto’s newest private wine cellar. Suddenly the start of the week just got posh.

*Of course, no one would blame you for staying in to watch this. (It’s not blasphemy if your team is out.)
