Today’s Notable 3some in Toronto: March 26, 2014

Here’s a trio of the hottest things you can do to further enjoy your Hump Day.*

Food
Where: The County General, 936 Queen St. W
When: 5:30pm/7:30pm/9:30pm

The County General’s Adam Alguire has teamed up with Bertrand Alépée from the Tempered Chef to prepare a southern style four-course meal for $40. On your plate you’ll find blackened chicken livers, jalapeno cheddar corn bread, sugarcane shrimp boudin served with green gumbo and fried okra, and trotters and ribs accompanied by popcorn grits, collared greens, and Wild Turkey bourbon jus. Throw in some special cocktails for the occasion that include the Southern Bell (bourbon, lemon juice, sparkling wine, honey) and we’d say your Hump Day just got a hell of a lot better.

One Of A Kind
Date: March 26-30
Location: Direct Energy Centre,

You know what people do in Spring? They get married and have birthdays, or just generally enjoy receiving gifts. And you know what you get the person or couple who has everything – you get them something there’s only one of. That’s where the four-day One Of A Kind Show comes in. Featuring more than 450 artisans working in various mediums like glass, ceramics, textile, and wood we’re sure you’ll find exactly what you’re looking for. Even if you don’t know what it is until you see it. This

Found Footage
Where: The Royal, 608 College St.
When: 9:00pm

The Found Footage Festival makes its Toronto stop tonight and we can’t say there’s ever been a stranger event we’ve really wanted to see. Basically, curators Joe Pickett (The Onion) and Nick Prueher (Letterman) sift through thousands of old videos found at garage sales, thrift stores, warehouses, and dumpsters to come up with the best collection of, you guessed it, found footage. This is voyeurism at its best. And yes, it includes home videos people obviously thought they’d manage to discard forever.

*If you’re here you should probably just pretend that you’re at home. Seriously, don’t tell anyone.
