Today’s Notable 3some in Toronto: June 24, 2014

Here’s a trio of the hottest things you can do on the last Tuesday in June.*

Art Battle Finals
Where: The Great Hall, 1087 Queen St. W.
When: 7:30pm

16 painters creating mini-masterpieces in under 20 minutes. And you get to walk among the brush strokes as they happen. This is the creative process on speed. Since this is the Toronto finals, the winner will represent our city at the 2014 National Championship on July 26th. So go judge for yourself – just beware of palette knives.

Dave Matthews Band
Where: Molson Amphitheatre
When: 7:30pm

We don’t need to sell you on DMB. Either you wear Birkenstocks or you don’t. Either you thought Crash Into Me was specifically written as the soundtrack for your adolescent love trails or you think a band that put out its first album 20 years ago has nothing left to offer. Either way, you’ve got your ball and you’ve got your chain.

Food
Where: Various
When: Noon onwards

Stop by Drake 150 to pick up a grab-and-go lunch that includes a sandwich, drink, and snack for only $15. Head to Momofuku Shoto tonight and enjoy a $250 high-end prix fixe filled with Canadian ingredients and guest chefs. Or, check out Luma for a collaborative fundraising dinner in support of the Hawksworth Young Chef Scholarship. Tuesday is a good day for food.

*Of course, no one would blame you for coming out to drink beer and pretend you’re smart
