Today’s Notable 3some in Toronto: June 10, 2014

Here’s a trio of the hottest things you can do on National Iced Tea Day.*

Phoenix
Where: Sound Academy
When: 7:00pm

The French boys know how to play. Seriously, in their time off on tour they rent bikes and cruise through the cities they’re visiting. But don’t get too upset if you don’t happen to see them getting doored on Bloor today, you can catch them rocking the stage at Sound Academy tonight instead. Long time no see, long time no say

The Lost Train
Where: Fairmont Royal York Hotel/Parts Unknown
When: 12:30pm–3:30 pm/2:00 pm–5:00pm/6:45pm–9:45pm

We already told you about it in our 6 Reasons to Hit Luminato Festival but we feel the need to remind you again. ‘Cause, well, it’s a mystery. And we’re definitely into the unknown… especially when the unknown means a train-themed food adventure. If you’re lucky enough to still get your hands on a ticket, we say all aboard.

Man of Iron
Where: TIFF Bell Lightbox
When: 6:30pm

For the next month, TIFF will be showing a collection of Polish films (21 in all) hand picked by Marty Scorsese. If you’re not already aware, Poland has one of the richest cinematic histories in the world. And tonight kicks off the stretch of world-class films with Man of Iron, the 1981 Winner of the Palme d’Or and nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars.

*Of course, no one would blame you for coming out to try to prove you’re smart.
