Today’s Notable 3some in Toronto: July 28, 2014

Here’s a trio of the best things you can do on the last Monday in July.*

WWI
Where: Everywhere
When: 9:50am

One hundred years ago today, the biggest war the world had ever seen started its five-year run. Millions upon millions of people died so you could be reading this. Dramatic? Yes. Correct? Definitely. So whether you head out to Black Creek Pioneer Village for the ceremony or just spend some time reflecting on your freedom, today is the day to do it.

Queen and Adam Lambert
Where: ACC
When: 7:30pm

Runner-up on American Idol, Adam Lambert is now playing runner-up to Freddie Mercury. And apparently doing one hell of a job. While no one can replace Queen’s original frontman, reviews are praising Lambert for his ability to walk the line between remaining his own man on stage and paying tribute to the voice he owes this tour to. So, you might say, he’s not feeling the pressure.

World Hepatitis Day
Where: South Riverdale Community Health Centre , 955 Queen St. E.
When: 1:00pm

There’s a reason we had to get these shots in school; Hep B and C are serious, life-threatening diseases. One in 12 people worldwide are affected with one form or the other and many who are aware of their status don’t have the resources to do anything about it. This info fair will give you food, music and, most importantly, information.

*Of course, no one would blame you for staying in to wonder why he doesn’t really seem all that mad
